Air Injection Iron, Sulfur, and Manganese Removal Heavy Weight System built by American Water Solutions.This Air Injection system is a “Heavy Weight” system because it comes with Katalox Light for iron removal in your water. Katalox Light media gives you a higher, better flow rate. You'll use 1/2 the backwashing time and have 1/2 the water wasted, which makes this filter media a more environmentally friendly and efficient option compared to Filox. Cut down on time and wasted water with this system.Removes up to 15 PPM iron. Removes up to 15 PPM of hydrogen sulfide (the rotten odor, sulfur smell). Removes up to 5 PPM manganese. High flow system, up to 12 GPM. This system has the Fleck 2510SXT control head which pushes compressed air at the top of the tank so as water flows through the tank system, the contaminates come in contact with that oxygen. This oxidizes them into a bigger form which is then trapped by the Katalox media. There are no chemicals involved at all in the backwash process.
