On the opposite shore from Québec City, the Lévis ferry terminal was completely rebuilt with a focus on user comfort and long-term sustainability. The design features a bright STE-6000 curtain wall by STEKAR on the terminal’s main façade, installed by Vitralum to rigorous standards.

The expansive glazed façade offers stunning views of the St. Lawrence River and the Québec City skyline, transforming the terminal into a panoramic lookout point for commuters and tourists. This curtain wall uses high-performance glazing and a pressure-regulated framing system to achieve excellent energy efficiency despite its large glass surface, contributing to the terminal’s LEED certification.

The rest of the building incorporates high-efficiency windows and spandrel panels that align seamlessly with the curtain wall, maintaining a consistent architectural appearance. Passive solar design elements—such as overhangs and low-angle glass—optimize winter solar gain while reducing summer overheating.

The façade not only creates a bright, welcoming interior for ferry passengers but is also engineered to withstand river winds and extreme temperatures. At night, the terminal’s glass façade glows with warm light, enhancing both safety and the building’s presence on the waterfront.
