This Desjardins bank branch in Québec City was rebuilt into a contemporary financial center focused on customer experience. The architects designed a striking corner façade that combines STE-6000 curtain wall glazing with distinctive A100-series aluminum panels.

The main hall of the branch is wrapped in a double-height glass curtain wall, showcasing the interior and inviting the community inside through its openness and natural brightness. STEKAR’s curtain wall installation includes integrated doors and vestibules that blend seamlessly into the glass façade.

Above and alongside the glazing, metallic green aluminum panels (reflecting Desjardins’ signature color) create a bold frame that makes the branch identifiable from a distance. These insulated panels also conceal structural elements and meet high energy-efficiency standards. The clean lines of the façade and the absence of visible fasteners echo the precision of banking operations. Technically, the façade system provides superior insulation and enhanced security: the glass is laminated for safety, and frames are reinforced at entry points. The new building envelope significantly improved the branch’s energy performance and street presence.

During the day, natural light floods the customer service areas; at night, the illuminated interior remains visible through the curtain wall, projecting an image of openness and trust. This modern approach to the façade of a financial institution has strengthened the visibility and accessibility of the Plateau-Montcalm branch within the neighborhood.
