LEED project
This award-winning indoor soccer complex (12,600 m²) is part of the Saint-Michel Environmental Complex, transformed from a former quarry. Designed by Saucier + Perrotte and HCMA, it achieved LEED Silver certification. STEKAR contributed a STE-6000 curtain wall façade that stretches across the building’s front, providing full-height glass for views and daylight.
The curtain wall is juxtaposed with large heat-treated zinc wall panels and an overhanging cross-laminated timber roof – an architectural nod to the site’s stratified geology.
STEKAR’s high-performance glazing ensures natural light floods the interior field without causing glare, and it helps maintain stable indoor temperatures for athletes.
The facade’s design and engineering balance transparency with thermal performance, using solar control glass and insulated spandrels. The result is a modern sports facility façade that merges industrial materials and sleek glass, symbolizing the ecological and community revitalization of Saint-Michel.
