The Montmagny courthouse is a LEED-certified judicial facility designed by multiple architectural firms (Odette Roy, Côté Chabot Morel, and others). STEKAR supplied a composite façade solution combining the Multifacades building envelope system and the STE-6000 curtain wall to meet both the functional and symbolic needs of a courthouse.

The building’s entrance hall is enclosed by a double-height transparent curtain wall, creating a sense of openness and allowing natural light to flood the lobby and waiting areas. The rest of the exterior is clad in an elegant and durable panel system (metal panels and stone-textured cladding) that harmonizes with Montmagny’s historic context.

High-security fenestration systems (ballistic glazing and aluminum windows) were installed for the courtroom and office windows. STEKAR also integrated solar-control fins on the most exposed façades to improve occupant comfort.

Technically, the façade meets the government’s strict standards for longevity, air tightness, and blast resistance, while delivering a refined architectural expression. The resulting building envelope conveys dignity and modernity, reflecting the transparency and stability of the judicial system within a regional setting.
