The headquarters of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), located at 333 Jean-Lesage Street, underwent a major façade renovation to improve its energy efficiency and modernize its appearance. STEKAR installed a custom system combining curtain walls and aluminum panels, including the prefabricated curtain wall and series aluminum panels. The design by Hudon & Julien Architectes replaced the outdated concrete cladding with sleek metal panels and high-performance glazing. The new curtain wall modules along the building’s perimeter significantly increase daylight inside the offices, creating a more modern and open atmosphere. Sunshades are integrated above the windows on sun-exposed façades to reduce cooling loads. The aluminum panels, with a neutral metallic finish, form continuous bands on each floor, providing insulation and a clean visual contrast with the glass. This exterior renovation greatly improved the thermal performance of the building, reducing air infiltration and heat loss. The technical execution required careful coordination around existing structural elements while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
